In 1994, for three months, some Rwandans massacred their neighbors. 25 years after the genocide, executioners and survivors are learning to live together again. Despite the crimes committed, they decided to move forward on the path of forgiveness, to find peace and build a new society.

1998, Kivu region, on the border between Congo and Rwanda. As the Second Congo War rages, Sergeant Xavier, a Rwandan war hero, and the young soldier Faustin lose track of their battalion. They then find themselves isolated and helpless to face the largest, most dense, and most hostile jungle on the continent. Experienced by hunger, thirst and disease, they will face their own torments, and those of a territory ravaged by violence.
